Advent in Bayside

30th Nov 2020

Some of our 4th class pupils made a beautiful Advent wreath which is in pride of place along our main corridor.

We also have this lovely blessing for the wreath on display -

Advent is a time of

waiting for the coming of the birth of Jesus. It is time of hope, a time of beginning. Living in  the darkness of winter and what this time in our lives brings to us we always live in hope  knowing that light will come. We wait with patience for Jesus’ birth, this a time to remember  that God is always with us, journeying with us. We may not always see him especially when it  is dark but when we come to stand in the light we see that God has never left us. God  watches us in love all the time.

And so this Advent wreath reminds us of God’s love. It’s shape and colour are symbols of  God’s never ending love for us.

Advent is a time when we remember the past, celebrate the  present and look with hope to the future. Lord, may we be aware of the joy that the birth of  Jesus brings into our lives. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer

Advent is a time when we prepare a place for you in our hearts and  in our world. Lord, help us to help others who need our help that we may share what we have  so as to hold you in all we do. Lord in your mercy hear our prayer
