Bayside Youth Club

6th Dec 2019

The Bayside Youth Club has closed down after struggling over the last year with leader numbers. Founded in 1974 and operational for most of the years since, the youth club has ran weekly following the school calendar. Membership has always been at good levels with around 40 children between the ages of 10 and 13.

The club is well equipped with the usual youth club equipment and has a healthy bank balance. It is run on a not for profit basis and is staffed by volunteers.  The ethos of the club is to allow a safe place for children to meet, play and associate with friends, in a controlled (adult supervised) but non-structured way. Our youth club has always been a great asset to our community and we are all very proud of it.

The outgoing leadership would love to see the club reform in the near future and avail of the assets that are ready to use in the Community Centre, and will offer their assistance and knowledge to any new club that forms.

If you think that a Youth Club is a strong asset to our community and are willing to volunteer to help build a new club, please contact Donal Greene at donal.greene@gmail.com who can help advise setting up and running.  I would also like to thank everyone that volunteered over the past 46 years and made our club such a success, and I'm sure it can be again in the future.
