Messages for 6th Class

21st Jun 2020

During our last full school week of the school year we are thinking especially of our 6th classes as they finish up in primary school.

They have made big sacrifices having to stay home and miss out on all the rituals and traditions associated with their last term in Bayside SNS.

They are true heroes who saved lives and showed great resilience and positivity.

The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins has a special message for our 6th class pupils, which you can view below.

Author Sarah Webb has also organised #messagesfor6thclass and you can view the amazing video she organised down below.

We also wanted to organise personal messages for our pupils, so firstly we have a message from Adi Roche.

Adi founded the Children of Chernobyl and has a special connection with Bayside SNS.

Mr. Reddy's class last year learned about Chernobyl in school and were moved to fundraise for the children there.  Ultimately the whole school joined in and they raised enough money to fund surgery for a baby who was born with the 'Chernobyl heart' condition. The pupils of Bayside saved this baby's life and Adi visited our school as a result last May and spoke to the whole school in the hall.

Have a look at Adi's video message below.

Dublin player Brian Fenton has fond memories of playing the great GAA team of Bayside SNS and former Dublin player and Bayside resident, David Henry has also sent on a message for you to watch below.

Steve from the band Kodaline has also sent us a special message for our pupils and you can watch it on this page.

We also have a message below from past pupil Daniel O' Hara who is now a director with credits such as Harlan Coben's 'The Stranger' on Netflix and 'Victoria' on ITV!

From the world of literature we have past pupil and author of crime novels, Alex Barclay with a message below for our 6th class pupils graduating from Bayside.
